We dined at the Ristorante La Corte at Villa Abbazia on the night of our 10th anniversary. It was a very special evening. The candlelit dining room was lovely.

Our table had a large gardena plant, a heart-shaped vase with a rose, candles, and two bird figurines.

Our meal began with an assortment of breads, and a cream of cauliflower soup:

Then we were served an antipasto of zucchini flowers stuffed with buffalo mozzarella and anchovies.

The pasta course was a delicious risotto with fresh porcini and parmagiano.

At this point we were full, and ready to stop eating, but of course, this was Italy, so the courses continued! Our entree was braised veal cheeks. We finished our bottle of local Tocai.

Then came the dolci! Puff pastry layered with pastry cream and berries, then meringues and dried fruit, followed by coffee, grappa and chocolate! God help us!

While we were at dinner, small vases of gardenias were placed in our room.

It was a very special anniversary dinner!
