Rosalia and Roberto picked us up for the short drive to Il Tinello, just outside of Bassano. It was the weekend of their 21st wedding anniversary, and their wedding lunch was held here, so we celebrated anniversaries together. It was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The tables were beautifully set with fresh fruit and laurel leaves. When making a reservation, you were asked to select from meat, fish, or vegetarian. There are no menus. We began with prosecco and two plates of antipasti:

The second antipasto was melted cheese with prosciutto, a layer of puff pastry topped with poppy seeds:

Next came the primi...THREE of them! Pappardelle with salsiccia e piselli, crespelle stuffed with a cheesy filling, and a wonderful risotto with gorgonzola and grapes! A bottle of vino bianco accompanied the paste.

Next there was an "in-between" course of rare roast beef.

Our entrees arrived with red wine. Slow cooked pork cooked in milk, and I'm not even sure what the other meat was, but both were good, and served with roasted potatoes and roasted peppers, onions and carrots.

Dessert was panna cotta with a delicious "frutta di bosco" mixed berry sauce, served with sweet wine and wonderful espresso in cute white bowls.

The bill for all of this was... 28 euro per person! Amazing! We returned to Bassano, and took a walk around town with Rosalia and Roberto. What a lovely evening!

OMG! 28 Euro per person? Did that include wine? What a steal! I wonder how I can get there for dinner next May...
