This little town of Marostica is famous for its Sagra every 2 years and the living chess game on the main piazza which is always a chess board. It happens to be going on the weekend we are in Bassano. We are not going to the festivities, but saw the town getting ready for the crowds who will attend!
There is an ancient castle wall, high above the town that you can walk to, however, being lazy and out-of-shape, we DROVE up!
We were able to see the piazza (chess board) from above.
The views of the valley were lovely from the top.
It looks like lots of fun and pagantry.
