You've never seen one of THOSE on my blog before! That is because I have never cooked a whole fish... especially one with his head and tail still attached! I mostly cook tilapia, sometimes halibut or mahi, or I cook shrimp, scallops or crab. We eat lots of tuna from cans. Never say never.
Marcella has challenged all of the cooks on the Pomodori e Vino blog to try new things!
This guy is due to be featured on September 11 (when we are in Italy), so I had to blog ahead. Check it out then!

There's been a lot of whole fish around these last few weeks, hasn't there? I've cooked fish with head and tail on, but it's not something I do often.
Have a wonderful time in Italy!!! It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned. I'm counting down the days until our trip-we leave Sept. 25th. I'll be sure and check out some of the places in Umbria you suggested. Oh, and an early Happy Anniversary to you and Brad.

Palma, what a handsome looking creature! We cook whole fish often, usually sea bass.
Have a great trip, I will be eagerly following your blog!

Palma, I don't think that fish looks very happy...maybe he knows what's ahead for him? :)
I hope you have a wonderful trip. I look forward to hearing all about it. Happy Anniversary to you and Brad!
