On tuesday, we had a great relaxing day in Verona! After breakfast, we walked to Giardino Giusti. It was slightly overcast at first, but then the sun came out. Emjoy this slide show:

After the gardens, we revived with some coffee, and walked to the Duomo. It is a beautiful, "happy church" with gorgeous chapels and a pre-renaissance exterior. Our favorite side chapels, where we lit candles for many friends, was Santa Maria del Popolo. Often, when in Italy, I get very emotional in certain churches, and this was one of those.

We had a fun lunch at Osteria Al Duomo.

I ordered a plate of polenta, gorgonzola, and sopressa. OMG! The polenta was boiling hot, slather some wonderful gorgonzola dolce over it, and just a drizzle of olive oil. Let that cheese melt, and pop a forkful into your mouth. Have a piece of salami, then wash it all down with a glass of 1.50 Custoza, Oh yes, it is good, but we couldn't finish it. Brad even tasted some bigoli (spaghetti) with ragu di asino (donkey). What a great place!
