Just because I am not a chocolate fan, doesn't mean my friends and customers have to suffer! When there is chocolate and CARAMEL involved, I might just be tempted!
Caramel Chocolate Blossoms (makes 50-60 cookies)
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. unsweetened Dutch Process cocoa powder
2 t. baking powder
1 egg
2 T. milk
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 bag Hershey Caramel Kisses (unwrapped) There are around 60 in a bag.

In mixing bowl, combine butter and shortening. Beat for 30 seconds. Add sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Beat well. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat in flour and mix well. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill dough 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350. Shape dough into 1 " balls. Place them 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

Bake 10 minutes. IMMEDIATELY press a caramel kiss in the center of each cookie. (Have kisses unwrapped and ready to go!) Transfer to wire rack and cool.
Here is a double batch:
