Another match made in heaven, and oh, so easy!
1 Devils Food Cake mix
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 egg
3/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 t. vanilla
3 c. powdered sugar
2 T. cream or milk
3/4 c. honey roasted peanuts, chopped
1/2 c. cream
12 oz. chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350. Line a 15x10 pan with foil, overhanging edge. Beat together: cake mix, 1/3 c. melted butter and the egg. Press mixture into pan. Bake 12 min.
Cool.
Combine soft butter, peanut butter and vanilla. Beat 30 seconds. Add powdered sugar, then cream or milk and beat until smooth. Stir in peanuts. Spread over cooled crust and chill.
Bring cream to just a boil. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips and let stand 5 minutes without stirring. Stir until smooth, and spread over peanut butter layer. Cover and chill 2 hours before cutting into bars. Keep in fridge.

PS: the "Buon Natale cookies" turned out good. maybe my dough was too dry? i took your hint and had only 2 break apart. i figured out if one broke..i "glued" it back together with the white icing

Palma,
do you cook the gingerbread cheese cake with 2 layers of foil wrapped around it? or is that just for cooking the crust? thanks!

Geri,
YES for the foil, so the water bath doesn't leak through!
