Saturday night, we were invited to a lovely dinner party at our neighbors, Maryann and Jay's home. Two other couples were also invited for a delightful evening of great company and fabulous food!
The holiday table was set beautifully in red and gold.

After wine and appetizers, we began with a salad of greens, pears, blue cheese, candied pecans and a choice of pear dressing or wine vinaigrette.

There were the cutest holiday place card holders, so we lined them up for a photo.

The main course was wonderful! Short ribs, perfect risotto and roasted cauliflower. YUM!

Dessert was also a hit: a very moist and pretty chocolate flan cake.

I had SUCH a good time! It was also a perfect treat to have a night off of cooking! I can't believe I only took food photos, and didn't get a picture of our fun friends and generous hosts! Next time! Thank you Maryann and Jay!

What a lovely table setting and the food looks wonderful. You deserve to be a guest after all the baking and cooking you've done all year long. Such nice neighbors.
