No More Cookies

The containers are empty, the tubs are all clean
This December, I was just a cookie baking queen.
Somewhere around 2,400, I lost count
Just be sure that it was an ungodly amount.
I am TIRED of cookies, and dishes and trays
There are some in the freezer for a party on Thursday.
As a gift, I received a big beautiful tin
of Moravian Ginger Cookies, tasty and thin.
So the LAST batch, I made just for ME for a treat
Filled with cream cheese and ginger, just for ME to eat!
I will bake no more cookies til Slow Bowl, it's true
Then some Nutella Sandwiches, I'll make just for YOU!
You may wonder with all of those cookie trays sold,
If I made any profit, from those cookies I rolled?
Let's just say after a gazillion hours of baking
A whole $278 is what I ended up making.

All hail Queen Palma! Sounds like you deserve a vacation:)

Enjoy your well deserved rest! Better raise your prices if you do this again!

So that is what - .50 cents an hour? ARGH!!!!! Talk about slave labour.

You are my hero! Time to take a big break and let someone cook for you.

Barb Cabot:

I feel so lucky I was the recipient of your home made cookies. They were delish..every last one.

It is definitely a labor of love. George knows what that is like also. That is part of the reason he gave up on having a home nursery. Hopefully, you'll come up with ideas on how to improve it.

Not so much the money as the smiles you put on people's faces. I made your shortbread recipe (dipped in chocolate with toffee chips a la Brad), and the cookies got rave reviews. Mahalo for your generosity.
