Foodies will recognize the name of James Beard award winner, Chef Scott Conant, who has opened a new wine bar in Las Vegas. He has hosted the TV show, 24 Hour Restaurant Battle, serves as a judge on Chopped and is internationally known for his modern Italian cooking, and restaurant, Scarpetta. DOCG is named after a category of Italian wine called Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita.

First of all, I LOVE the decor of DOCG. Brick walls and great signs around the bar and dining room feel like you have left the Las Vegas strip.

We began with an antipasti of fonduta with a poached duck egg on top. You stir in the egg with the fabulous bread and dip. YUM!
Next we shared two individual pizzas we couldn't come close to finishing:
A two layer prosciutto crudo and fontina, and one with fresh ricotta, mozzarella, sopressata and red pepper.
