I have been to the Rialto Market on previous trips to Venice, but today, we had the pleasure of meeting Lolo, President of the Rialto Fish Market Association, and owner of a wonderful seafood restaurant, Al Fontego dei Pescatori.

He told us where each fish came from, and how to choose the freshest fish in season. He was also delightfully fun to be around. We bonded over a cigarette, and I learned that he is half Pulliese, as I am! Here is some of the beautiful seafood we saw:
