After our busy morning and early afternoon in Modena, we took a break, then met for drinks at 6:30 at Gamberini. While Gamberini is "just a bakery", they have some of the most amazing appetizers I have seen in Bologna. All bars put out a little snack at apertivo time, but Gamberini has at least 15 different choices...all free. Yes, one could make it dinner!
I told my guests to go easy on the appetizers, as we WERE having dinner at 8:00 at Merlo, around the corner. It was another delicious meal with great pasta and Cotoletta Bolognese. I only took a couple of food photos, as I was busy with the waiter doing birthday surprise things. We all celebrated Itz' birthday! Tour guides must remember to always pack birthday candles!
We got everyone into a taxi back to the hotel, then Brad and I walked to Piazza Maggiore for coffee and a nightcap.
