On to Urbino

Urbino%201.jpg

We left Ascoli around 9, and stopped at a Casificio Piandelmedico in Jesi to buy an assortment of wonderful cheeses. By 12:40 we arrived at Locanda Valle Nuova and were warmly greeted by Giulia. Got settled in, and went to have lunch in Cagli at the Alimentari. GREAT food!

We spent the late afternoon in Urbino, walking around the town. We will return to tour the Palazzo Ducale.

Giulia's surroundings are lovely, with wonderful views. Our wine was chilled by sunset, and we had a nice picnic dinner of cheeses, salumi, figs and bread in the breakfast room.
After such a busy week, we needed an early night to catch up on some sleep.
