After hugs and good-byes to Giulia and her family, we reluctantly left Le Marche, trying to figure out how soon we could get back!

We would be traveling through four regions today: Umbria, Toscana, and finally Lazio. It was a pretty drive, and we decided to make Arezzo our lunchtime stop.
We had never been to Arezzo, so we were eager to get a little glimpse of the city that I already knew is worthy of a longer visit. We were charmed by what we saw.

We stopped for lunch of a plate of cold cuts, cheese and a glass of wine.

We had just enough time to stop for coffee and gelato on the piazza before heading back to the end of two hours in our parking meter. Arezzo seemed like a place we would like to explore further.

We drove much of the afternoon, but our final destination was well worth it.
Tomorrow...Fontana del Papa!
