A Weekend in Scottsdale

Our friend, Roxanne's parents were staying in Scottsdale for a couple of months to get away from the cold weather in Wisconsin, so she timed her visit to the desert for us all to go to Scottsdale for a weekend visit with her mom and dad. We arrived Friday afternoon and had a lovely dinner at Uncle Sal's Italian Restaurant. Roxanne stayed with her parents, and we stayed with their family friend, Patsy, at a neighboring condo.

On Saturday, Brad and I took off on our own for the morning and did lots of shopping, returning with bags from Sur la Table, Nordstrom, and Crate & Barrel! We visited the Fashion Square mall, the Borgata, and then took a break for lunch at J. Alexander's. Brad enjoyed his corned beef sandwich, and I had a fabulous home made fennel sausage-caramelized onion flatbread:

We did a little more shopping after lunch, and then made a gelato stop! Brad had Caramel-Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and I had Salted Caramel. YUM!

It was a perfect shopping day in Scottsdale, followed by a delicious dinner from Roxanne's parents!

Barb Cabot:

I'm sure it was fun to see Roxanne's parents again and for them to see you. Love that little gelato car!
