We hadn't planned an an earthquake for an early Sunday wake up call at 4:00 a.m..
I thought Brad was jumping on the bed, but went back to sleep, not even realizing it had been an earthquake until an hour later when there was an aftershock. We were out for a walk by 7:30, stopping by Cafe del Doge for a first latte. It was a gorgeous morning with rain coming in the afternoon.

We wandered over to Santa Maria della Salute and a walk around Dorsoduro.

We had a nice easy day, a nap, then hung out with Shannon and some wine before happy hour at Riga near the Rialto. Later we met Nan for a wonderful dinner at Osteria alla Staffa. Mussels and clams in an amazing ginger broth and bacala three ways made my taste buds tingle!

Shannon is off to Croatia in the morning, and we have two more full days in Venice!

Palma, it looks like you are drinking RED wine - is that possible?

Nancy, I had no wine left, and grabbed Brad's Valpolacella for the photo.

Palma, we stayed just behind that wooden bridge, the wistaria vines were a burst of purple, how fun to see your picture.
