On Thursday, we left our friends at Porta San Mamolo in Bologna with a detour to Ravenna to see the art museum there, as they had a Caravaggio on loan. Diane and Frank are real art history students, so this was quite a treat for them. After lunch, we headed south down the A-14 autostrada. We arrived at Locanda Valle Nuova in the late afternoon. The countryside is gorgeous!

Giulia's roses are stunning, and the wine and food are great. Who could ask for more?

I love Ravenna, even the "small" Cathedral before you get to town. Hope you took lots of pictures to share of the Caraviggio pieces too. (If they allowed cameras.)Cant wait to hear stories & see all the pics!
