There are many things that really put a smile on my face in Italy. A field of poppies or sunflowers will do it every time. I can't even tell you how many times I have made Brad stop on the side of the road for a photo! Here are some papaveri from Le Marche!

I was 7 years old when we arrived in California, and I saw my first field of poppies. I have never forgotten! Thanks.

I love these poppies. I had only seen orange poppies in California growing up. I always wondered why artists like Monet would paint poppies red until I traveled to Europe and saw the fields of RED flowers. What a revelation! Thank you for such lovely pictures of scenes that do take my breath away.
