Making Art

I needed something for the wall over the bed in what WAS our guest room, and will soon be Federico's room. I ordered 5 large, thick, cut out wooden letters. They are 14 inches tall, 3 inches thick, and you can choose your font.

First I painted a sandy color across the bottom third of each letter using acrylic craft paint. When that was dry, I sponged on some gold flecks of "sand".

Add shades of aqua and blue "water", getting darker toward the horizon.

Add some sky, waves and foam.

Hang letters securely on the wall: (I took the photo from a weird angle. They really are straight.)

Cost: $130
Effect: Priceless

I love this so much!

SO cool, and cooling! You did a beautiful job painting them!

This is one lucky kid coming to live with you guys! What a great room you have waiting for him.
