This week with the high temperatures and humidity, it was too hot to cook, so we had a couple of very simple meals. We had neighbors over for antipasti to meet their lovely daughter. Federico and Janelle chatted about school, while the adults enjoyed a glass or two of wine. We now have a family to carpool with. I am the morning shift, and Janelle's dad will pick the kids up after school on days that I work.
We ate parmigiano from Modena with Italian honey, salami, endive stuffed with a gorgonzola mixture, olives, grissini, tomatoes, fruit and (no photo) mozzarella di buffola with bread and a butter-anchovy sauce. For dessert, we had zucchini cake with lemon glaze.

Janelle's parents own a cafe in Palm Desert, and know I have done some catering for neighbors. They asked if I would like to bake desserts to sell in their cafe. LOL Sure, in all my spare time, I can be a pastry queen.

Bake desserts? Yikes, you need to be twins. That spread looks fabulous!
