Life Update

We leave for Italy in 12 days! My bag is half packed.

I have baked 85 DOZEN cookies, with three more kinds left to bake this weekend.

There are three trees up and decorated: Our big traditional tree, our Italy tree, and Federico's tree in his room. The outside lights and done (by Brad and Federico).

I have been working lots of extra hours! Beginning in January, I will begin FULL TIME at Catholic Charities.

Brad's job search is going pretty well. We are hopeful. He has applied for 12 jobs. He has had three phone interviews where he has been advanced to the next level to meet with those who actually make the hiring decisions. He will speak to them before we leave for Italy!

Book Club: My Book Club read Sandra Cordon's "The Virgin and the Griffin" last month.
We gathered here last week for lunch (Italian wedding soup, salad, bread and Nutella panna cotta) and had a delightful skype chat with Sandra in Rome. My book club friends really enjoyed talking to Sandra, and asking questions about the book, telling here their favorite parts, hearing about her inspiration and research, and getting a "sneak preview" of her next book! I look forward to meeting Sandra in person in Rome in a couple of weeks!

Federico has been busy with school and his soccer team! He is enjoying Holiday time at the Hansen's, and cookies!

Palma, you are amazing!

Best wishes to you and Brad on your new professional endeavors. It sounds like there is quite a bit of interest in Brad, that is wonderful.

We leave in 12 days too! Although I won't pack until the day before, lol!

On behalf of your book club friends, we thoroughly enjoyed our chat with Sandra! She was lively and engaging, and a total delight! Thanks again, Palma!

Ohhhh, "Sister Bella", it sounds like things are falling into place at the "Hansen" house! Full time for Catholic Charities AND 3 next step interviews for Brad! Now "them" are some real Christmas blessings before you fly away to Italy. I am smiling from ear to ear!

How do you do it all? I am always so amazed at your boundless energy. I'm so happy that you and Brad will be going to Rome with a lighter heart. Don't forget to say your Novena to the patron saint of " career seekers" when you are at the Vatican. Christmas at the Vatican - I am truly jealous!
ps. I have 1 tree up but no ornaments on it.
It's more than I can handle this year! Looks pretty at nite and I do have some table top decorations out. Les goes around saying " Merry F-ing Christmas" as usual.

Thanks so much for inviting me to Skype with your book club, Palma - it was great fun to meet everyone. See you soon!
