The Polo Match

After two weeks of frigid temperatures (in the 30s, 40's and 50's), last weekend was a glorious 78 degrees. We enjoyed the sunshine and good company of of our friends Jan and Les, who finally returned for "season" in the desert. We began Sunday morning as their guests for a wonderful champagne brunch at Rancho La Quinta Country Club.

After brunch, we were their guests at the Empire Polo Club to watch our first polo match.

The horses were beautiful, and the players were skilled. We were in a lovely cabana where drinks were served, and we stayed in the shade. This is the life!

Federico even got a ball that was hit out of bounds. What a lovely was to spend the afternoon. Then we came back to reality where Federico studied for finals, and I caught up on my paperwork!
