Beth, along with her husband, Mike, is co-owner of two Italian Deli/Markets in St. Louis - Viviano’s Festa Italiano. When not creating yummy new menu items for the deli, she’s the pediatric research lab supervisor at Washington University School of Medicine.

I have only now seen this post and the following one from Deborah. How mysterious.
It is hard to believe that any vegetable with green in it can be as sweet as leeks when they are cooked. They look just right in your photo, Irene, good enough to sway any skeptics.
