« How did I end up at 50 years old hiking 178 miles in the Himalayas? | Main | Training went well this weekend, I have a new fundraising goal »

My Nepal fundraiser for the American Himalayan Foundation

I decided as part of my trip I would bring as much in the way of clothes, shoes etc. as my luggage will allow. On Thai airways that is one 70 pound bag, plus as much as I can fit in my primary bag.

I decided to do more this trip so I began looking for a worthy charity in the Himalayan region. I found an ideal choice, the http://www.himalayan-foundation.org/live/home/home

They have earned the highest rating from charity review sites and put a very high percentage of donations into actual projects. Schools, bridges, healthcare and various development projects have been funded.Look at their website for details.

I am asking my readers, friends and family to donate through the website or by mail or phone if they are more comfortable doing that. I really would appreciate your support. Please put Rainey Christmas trek on the info to AHF line on the website donation page, or mention my project in any mailing or phone donation. Thank You in advance.

Congratulations on your blog! Nicely done.
I made a donation to the AHF today, and referenced your trek. Good luck!
