Jetlagged and unable to sleep past 6AM, I volunteered to go get breakfast and coffee for the girls. Shan and Sandy couldn't believe I was awake, and frankly neither could I, but I do remember this phenomenon from my Sweden trips too... It will go away - thank god - but for now I can make the morning meal run.
It was almost like Beauty and the Beast, everyone saying Bonjour to each other in the Patisserie, Cafe and veggie stand! I brought back baguette, pain au chocolate (amazing), croissants, bananas and 2 cafe creme for the coffee drinkers. Imagine, I did all this and used my French too - getting more confident, but still unsure...
We are off to the Eiffel Tower and who knows what else today - lots of walking since the croissants are SO DELICIOUS and we can't stop eating them! Shan said she doesn't even like croissant, but she sure wolfed one down this morning with a big grin - seems she thinks they taste "different" here!
