I'm afraid I've been an absentee blogger for the past several days -- I've been in my beloved Umbria and have had a fantastic time there. I couldn't find an Internet point (although I didn't try very hard -- I was too busy buying new tapestries, ceramics and soaking up the fantastic atmosphere there!)
Alas, I've run out of money and so I have to return to the work-a-day world. Plus, I seem to have cracked a tooth and am in incredible pain, so I'll be making a beeline for my dentist Thursday morning.
I'm now here in Rome, making a quick Internet stop. I consulted a pharmacist here who assured me a painkiller called Panadol is identical to North America's Advil and won't trigger my asthma (as almost all painkillers do.)
If she is wrong and this is my last blog post, I want to be cremated with my new ceramics! (Okay, that wasn't very funny But I am in a lot of pain.)
I've collected so much great blog material and photos to use in the coming days, that I don't dare quit the blogging world just yet!

Hey Sandra, I'm so sorry you're in pain. I hope the Panadol didn't triggger your asthma. It really is safe - it was the go-to medication when we were growing up.
I hope the pain eases up by the time you get on the plane. Have a safe flight back. I look forward to hearing all about your trip, and seeing the wonderful treasures you've collected. And of course, you absolutely have to stave off the post-vacation blues by immediately starting to plan your next trip!

You are totally forgiven for not blogging. I'm so sorry to hear about your tooth but thankfully it occurred at the end of the trip, hope the meds do the trick and help on the way home. Can't wait for you to feel better and to hear more details. Safe travels home.

Snadra, sorry you are in pain.
Just thought you should know that Panadol is not Advil, it is the UK version of Tylenol: paracetamol or acetaminophen.)
Advil is ibuprofen.
Hope you enjoy your remaining days in Italy.

Poveretta Sandra! So sorry to hear you are in pain (and out of money...) Just for your info, Panadol is a brand name of Paracetamol, which in the US is Acetaminophen (brand name Tylenol.) So Panadol is NOT the same as Advil - to get Advil you would have to ask for Ibuprofen(a). Hope Tylenol doesn't bother you!

Oh Sandra I'm sorry to hear about your dental misfortune. It must've put quite a damper on enjoying your last days of your trip. I'm looking forward to reading more! We are so lucky that you go to Italy 2x a year or so!
