Let me tell you about Club. There are 14 of us who have been getting together monthly at someone's house for 30 years! Eleven of us have been friends since childhood, while the other 3 are married to our childhood friends. We grew up within several city blocks of each other. All but two of us still live within 45 minutes of each other. The two out of towners join us at least a few times/year. The evening is always filled with laughter, great food and lots of wine. Sometimes we have been known to get loud, gossip and even husband bash a bit. We always get together on a Friday night. Years ago, in our 20's, we got together on weeknights and hung out til the wee hours of the morning (I was always the first to leave). Certainly those days are behind us. Who would ever be able to function the next day? I suppose that eventually we will be getting together on Saturday afternoons - but not for awhile yet!

Our daily lives take us down many different paths, but our shared history transcends any differences. While the get togethers are special, it is the bond of friendship that we treasure. We have shared many years of joys and hopes as well as disappointments and sorrow. From weddings to childbirth to the loss of loved ones and everything in between, we have been there for each other. So, to all of my Homey's - love you guys. Looking forward to the next 30 years!
