These are our favorite burgers to eat in the Spring & Summer. I am sick of winter and since the forecast is for temps in the high 50's today, I will make these for dinner tonight as our Taste of Spring. I found this recipe browsing in a House & Garden Magazine a few years ago at the Hair Salon.
TURKEY BURGERS with SPICY COLE SLAW
1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
1/2 cup bread crumbs
3 T Mayonnaise
2 T chopped, fresh chives
1 T Worcester Sauce
1 T Hot Sauce
2 green onions, sliced (white & green parts)
4 Basil Leaves, sliced thin
1 t salt & 1/2 t pepper
Mix all ingredients together and shape into 5 or 6 Burgers. Use indoor or outdoor grill.
Serve on Buns topped with spicy coleslaw (recipe follows), tomato slices, and sweet pickles.
SPICY COLESLAW
2 C shredded cabbage
1 C loosely packed Arugula
10 Basil Leaves, sliced thin
1/2 C Mayo
1 T apple cider vinegar
2 t Dijon mustard
1/2 t sugar
1/2 t red pepper flakes
Salt & Pepper to taste.
Enjoy!

Thank you! I'm printing both of these out. I love turkey burgers and that slaw sounds great (I love arugula and never thought of adding it to slaw).

Gee it's almost dinner time here on the west coast. I'm defrosting turkey now for a meal that you've just posted ...maybe tomorrow? Thank youl, sounds like a good sat. meal for us.

Just wanted to let you know that I made these for lunch today - delicious! I love the slaw. I used Napa cabbage because that's what they had at the farmer's market yesterday, and it came out great. The arugula really adds a lot of flavor. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!
