No real blog ideas for tonight. Spent most of today thinking/fretting over how I was going to manage to watch Chi-Chi for the weekend. Chi-Chi is my neighbor's spoiled, neurotic 15 year old Pomeranian. Irene called me in a panic on Tuesday. She was leaving for Florida to .visit her son on Thursday and her SIL, who was supposed to take the dog suddenly backed out. Irene and I go way back and she (and her now grown children) has watched my animals many times, so of course I agreed. BUT, Chi-Chi HATES me. If she sees me at my front door she barks. I don't visit her house often, but when I do she barks incessantly until Irene picks her up! Originally, Irene wanted me to keep her at my house, but quickly realized that this was a bad idea. Maddie, my 2 year old, slightly wacky Boxer would probably give Chi_chi a Heart Attack. So DH and I will take turns going over there 4 times a day until Monday. Truthfully most of this will probably fall on my husband since she does at least tolerate him! It is going to be a long weekend!

You are a good friend and neighbor! Have you tried giving Chi-Chi a treat (the way to a dog's heart...)? Good luck!

Oh what a good neighbor and friend you are. I second Annie's suggestions, spoil Chi-Chi with treats, and she'll be satisfied.

Good luck with this; I can see where the end of the weekend cannot come too soon for you.

Thanks all! Just spent 30 minutes trying to get Chi-Chi to go out with no success! She wouldn't even stay in the same room with me - no matter how many treats I had in my hand. Will send DH!

Good luck. Maybe Chi-Chi will decide you're not so bad if her owner isn't around.

It's funny but last night, I had this very anxious dream about having to go somewhere and not having anyone to look after my cats. I think the dream may have been inspired by reading your entry about Chi-Chi. So all i can say is kudos to you!!!

I hope things are going a little better for you now that the weekend is half over.
