Pink Gardens

azaleas.jpg

This spring driving up to Grey Gardens was like going through a pink cloud. So for awhile, I thought of it as Pink Gardens. There's a famous Korean poem with azaleas:

The Azalea

When you take your leave,
Tired of seeing me,
Gently and silently I'll bid you go.

From Mount Yag of Yongbyon
An armful of azaleas I shall pick,
And strew them in your path.

Go now, I pray, with short steps!
Let each footstep gently tread
The flowers which I have spread for you.

When you take your leave,
Tired of seeing me,
Though I should die, I shall not weep.

Kim:

I love azaleas. We have four bushes on either side of our front door, two white, and two pink. When the white ones bloom they look like giant snow balls. We're re-doing our landscaping soon but I told them I want to new azaleas - white ones. :) BTW - my pink aren't as dark as yours. Lovely.
