luxembourg

Yesterday was a gorgeous day to walk in the Luxembourg gardens.

The light was clear the air alternated between fresh and boiling when the sun came out from behind the clouds. I love the way the trees are cut at the Luxembourg gardens. It looks to me like goats have been there, the trees all cut into a canopy, all the same height, perfect for promenading underneath. Contemporary and antique sculptures claim their space.

People promenade, play tennis, read, play chess competivley, chat, kids ride on ponies and swings. Kids sail wooden boats on the reflection pools race around the gravel paths on peddle powered go carts. Young couples kiss and pet on the grass or in chairs. Other people photograph everything some eat ice cream but everyone is relaxing together and smiling . That's a sunny day in Luxembourg

Ah, my favorite spot in Paris! I love to sit outside at the cafe there and watch the people promenade. I was once drinking tea under the trees and got to watch a high school band perform! I just love that being in the Luxembourg gardens is like stepping into a separate little town. There is just so much life going on in there, you know?

Me too Kathy, I love the Luxembourg, will be doing a painting of the reflection pool with the little wooden sailboats. I ate a crepe for you the other day and even took photos of it but have not had time to put them online. It was a cheese crepe though.
