May 1968

DSC08987.JPG
In Place la Sorbonne there is a photo exhibition of the riots in Paris during May 1968. There has been alot of documentation in the news for the 40 year anniversary of events that changed France.

sandrac:

What an interesting public exhibition. May 1968 must have been a fascinating period in France. Can you imagine social unrest so powerful that the country's president, de Gaulle, was actually forced to flee for a few days. I wonder how Sarkozy would have reacted? Probably he would have sent in the army....

I also find this public exhibition quite interesting. I have not known about this period of unrest in France but you have perked my interest to go find out.

girasoli, 1968 in Europe was a revolution, it started in the US in a university but I cannot remember which one it was. In Paris it was real violent and must have been incredible.
