English Canal Opportunities

1 June 2008  Lucille has just returned from a trip down the South Oxford canal with three other ladies--ages, late 50's to early 80's!!  Am still trying to finish a review of the trip, from our logs, but you should read Trip Report #88 and Trip Report #623-- two of our earlier trips--just to get a feel of an enjoyable holiday!!

Since the mid 1980's we have traveled aboard narrowboats on the English canals, primarily in the Midlands, and down to London.

We are not travel agents, simply people who feel this wonderful holiday should be experienced by more Americans!

Over fifty people have been introduced to narrowboat canal  travel--people who travel on their own or arrange to travel with us on any of our trips.  Join their ranks and have a super holiday in England!

The top narrowboat hire companies work with us, each offering different incentives to their customers. As an aside, if you feel the locks might be too much, we can help you find a wonderful hotel boat with all the amenities of a first class hotel!

Each company has excellent narrowboats, fully equipped with top grade china, crystal, eating and cooking utensils and equipment. The beds have innerspring mattresses, and all linen, including pillows is provided in the pricing. Narrowboats have at least one bathroom with flush-type toilet,  shower, central heat and its own clean, safe water supply.

Our top suggestion is a two week trip.  This will allow you to experience a circle trip. A week trip is adquate for a good 'out-and-back' trip. Each company offers shorter, 3 or 4 day trips--a 'toe in the water' sort of holiday.

There is no fee for booking your narrowboat through us.

We charge a nominal hourly fee for setting up B&B or hotel accomodations, taxi travel from and back to your airport and suggestions that will augment standard travel manuals.
