Unique narrowboating holidays on the canals of England and Scotland
Location: Canals in England and Scotland
English Canal Opportunities
The 2016 CANALING SEASON, IS ALMOST OVER!! THINK ABOUT YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SEE ENGLAND AND SCOTLAND IN ANOTHER WAY--ALONG THE LOVELY CANALS PROVIDED FOR US FROM THE INDUSTRIAL FOLKS IN THE 18TH CENTURY. ASK FOR BROCHURES, SPEND A WINTER'S EVENING DREAMING OF A LOVELY TIME ABOARD A NARROWBOAT AND JOIN THOSE WHO HAVE FOUND A DIFFERENT ENGLAND OR SCOTLAND--GO CANALING!!
First, my update--
This will be another 'stay at home year' for me. A year to find out I could easily live in less space!! Into a highrise and a flat on the 7th floor just minutes away from the 'old neighborhood'. Cannot imagine finding such warm quarters and caring staffers. Since 1991 we have boarded dogs--we had our own, but, when traveling was in the forefront, we gave up owning and hooked up with a company called Pets Are Inn to board dogs while owners were out of town. I simply could not give up those puppies and my highrise is pet friendly--five dogs on our 7th floor alone!! This is near perfection, indeed.
NOW--learn about us and how we came to enjoy these trips--
IN 1985 we took our first narrowboat trip down the South Oxford and were hooked!
We are not travel agents, simply people who feel this wonderful holiday should be experienced by more Americans!
Over one hundred people have been introduced to narrowboat canal travel--people who travel on their own or arrange to travel with us on one of our trips. Join their ranks and have a lovely, unique holiday in England--or the Lowlands of Scotland--Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The top narrowboat hire companies work with us, each offering different incentives to their customers. As an aside, if you feel the locks might be too much, we can help you find a wonderful hotel boat with all the amenities of a first class hotel!
The narrowboats come fully equipped with top grade china, crystal, eating and cooking utensils and equipment. The beds have innerspring mattresses, and all linen, including pillows are provided in the pricing. Narrowboats have at least one bathroom with flush-type toilet, shower, central heat and its own clean, safe water supply. The engines are small diesel, the steering is done by tiller on the stern deck.
Our top suggestion is a two week trip. This will allow you to experience a circle trip. A week is adquate for a good 'out-and-back' trip. Each company offers shorter, 3 or 4 day trips--a 'toe in the water' sort of holiday.
There is no fee for booking your narrowboat through us. With that booking we will assist you in getting the most out of your time spent on the canal trip--assiting you in finding transport, B&Bs, stocking your larder aboard and other questions you may have on your travel area. I recommend people along the way--none from whom do we get a kick-back--they are reliable people who have helped us and we want to pass their expertise on to our customers.
If you do not book through us, we do charge a nominal hourly fee for our suggestions and information that will augment the standard travel manuals.
I am including a view of the interior of a narrowboat; and, we always carry a flowering plant onboad. Included is a pcture of Scotland. looking down from the Castle in Stirling--a great 'off canal' side trip--that is a good combination of two large cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh--with much to see of the picturesque Scottish countryside.
Please e-mail us for brochures and further information It would be our pleasure to help you 'do' a holiday like no other, in England or Scotland!!
