A converted 800 year old Monastery with unique apartments, villas and cottages on a 200 acre estate in southern Tuscany, near Montepulciano. A large swimming pool, views of olives groves, vineyards, rolling hills and forests with offering peace and tranquillity.

The Country Resort

Sant'Antonio Country Resort was originally a Franciscan Monastery dating back to the 12th century. Over the past 800 years the Monastery has experienced the odd transformation done by the monks and farmers who lived and worked the land, however the beauty of the property still remains and has been treasured.

Sant'Antonio Country Resort is divided into 5 separate buildings, surrounded by 4 hectares of gardens on different levels, over a kilometer of bay leaf hedges, olives groves and centenarian trees with spacious terra cotta terraces allowing for privacy and wonderful views of the Valdichiana Valley and Lake Trasimeno on one side of the property and the famous rolling hills of Tuscany on the other, allowing you to spend your vacation with us in total relaxation and to experience a real country life feeling in Tuscany.

Apart from personal interest, we have some of these masters to thank for changing our art world and architecture locally in Montepulciano and in greater cities such as Florence, Rome and others across Italy and Europe. Hundreds of thousands of visitors fly from across the globe to get a glimpse of their masterpieces. From Sant' Antonio Country Resort a large number of these creations of art can be experienced from as close as a 2 minute to 2 hour drive.

Privacy and Tranquillity

At Sant' Antonio Country Resort, for your privacy, we have decided not to take any off street "walk in" bookings and have chosen to refrain from advertising our property or place sign posts on any roads or towns. A simple hand sculptured sign on an old travertine block with the words "SANT'ANTONIO" indicates that you have arrived at your destination.

The hand crafted cast iron gates, at the bottom of a cypress lined brick road is electrically controlled and kept closed. On arrival you will be provided with your own remote control for complete independence of movement and yet keeping our property exclusively private allowing access only to those who have booked and are staying with us.
