Cà Momplin - Belvedere del Roerowww.camomplin.comVacation Rentals, Italy, Piemonte Charming tophill countryhouses surrounded by vineyards in a gastronomic wonderlandLocation: Canale, Cuneo province, Piedmont (Italy) Sleeps: 4 + 8
Cà Momplìn delights its guests in all seasons thanks to its unique position in the heart of Piedmont's Roero vineyards; a real insider-tip (not only) for gourmets 40km south-east of Turin. From the top of a hill you will enjoy an outstanding view over hills green with vineyard and fruit trees which ultimately meet the snow–capped Alps on the far end of the horizon. In the evening the panorama is animated by a myriad of lights from the surrounding villages and castles, a panorama to be enjoyed with a glass of local wine on the large wooden terrace, right under the stars.
Cà Momplìn is a typical XVIII° Century Piedmont's farm house, part of a small hamlet called Mompellini, offering 2 separate self-catering accomodations: Cà Momplin I of 80 sqm. over two floors, freshly restructured and artfully decorated: on the ground floor the living room with open fireplace, equipped with a comfy sleeping couch sized 160x200, adjoins a large, fully furnished kitchen. The kitchen displays its original roof of red bricks and iron railings. On the first floor the large bedroom comes with a king size canopy bed, bathroom and balcony. The house, furnished with antiques and Provencal fittings is particularly charming and provides home comfy with a hint of today's … satellite TV, DVD & WiFi Internet coverage. Cà Momplin II offers the same high standard and selected furniture and decoration on 250 sqm. over two floors with 2 master bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living with kitchen and a studio spacious enough to host 8 sleeps.
Springtime is when you relax on an hammock, on our large wooden terrace overlooking the Canale valley, under the shadow of a 150 years old mulberry tree, or when you barbeque the excellent meat purchased in one of the village's butcher shop. Our region is renown for its oeno-gastronomic variety: organized visits to some of the most famous cellars, wine tastings, local and international events (the truffle festival from September-November in Alba, 'Cheese' Fair in Bra, Savour salon in Turin), mushroom picking, truffle hunts, etc … This is just a sample on how to spend your time in this area. If, on the other hand, you prefer to stay home you may want to enjoy our private selection of both local and International wines. Last not least, at Ca' Momplin you will have the opportunity to attend personal, hands-on cooking lessons; check out details on our website: http://www.camomplin.com/cookinge.html
You can choose from a variety of activities in the time you do not spend eating or drinking: from May to September you can access a private tennis club with a semi-Olympic pool and a small, very affordable family run restaurant in Canale (2km). The tennis club offers a large green area and is equipped with all you need for your small and not so small children. Hiking in wooded areas and vineyards with the assistance of good maps, guided horse backing trips on Argentine horses, tour the area on a scooter or on a Harley, or do cycling. Seaside and the Alps are one hour away, and Turin, the first capital of Italy and now famous worldwide having hosted the Winter Olympics, but, mostly, for its chocolate and baroque culture, can be easily reached by a direct bus connection from/to Canale.
As your neighbours we will always be on-hand should you need anything (suggestions, indications, organizing events, tours, tasting, choosing a restaurant, etc…). Should you so wish, we can serve you breakfast (with homemade bread and jam) and snacks on the terrace. On weekends, around here, there is always something going on: typical village festivals with music, dancing and, you have guessed right, wine and food. On Sunday, Canale, the main village that you can reach in 15 minutes on a peaceful footpath through vineyards, is the place to go to see people and shop for food: you can both get some of the best local cheese, salami's and other local artisan specialties for self-catering and/or souvenirs and enjoy marvellous Michelin-starred cuisine at Canale's Enoteca. Don't even miss the weekly open air market held on Tuesday: come to enjoy 'La Bella Vita' at its best at Cà Momplin! Pls. inquire for our long-term rental specials !
