Organic Tuscany offers week-long "farm to table" organic cooking courses in Italy. We visit local organic farms, meet their owners, eat in their farm restaurants and taste their wines. We teach you how to use their fresh, seasonal produce in traditional Tuscan dishes, both ”cucina povera” (inventive peasant food) and richer fare, including delicate Italian desserts. Three courses a year are 100% vegetarian. We have tours of spectacular cities: Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. There are beautiful walks in the area, and you’ll have plenty of time to relax by the pool and drink in the views.

Our cooking classes in Tuscany are very hands-on. They are taught in English, but you will acquire a smattering of culinary Italian. Local chefs will guide you through the preparation of simple but delicious dishes and reveal some of their culinary secrets. Groups are small (maximum 8 people), so that everyone gets a chance to try their hand at every technique, from making fresh egg pasta dough to lovingly stirring an artichoke risotto to perfection.

The accommodation will be on a gorgeous, lovingly restored Tuscan villa which has 6 hectares of olive groves and vineyards. Some of the rooms we will occupy will be frescoed rooms in the elegant manor house, others in a charming cottage next to the ancient oil press. The cooking classes will take place on site, in a spacious, sunny ground floor kitchen in what used to be the wine-making cellar.

The cooking classes will take place on site, in a well-equipped ground floor kitchen. We generally eat outside on a nearby terrace, with views across the neighbouring valleys. The double bedrooms in the Manor House are decorated with beautiful original frescoes and have their own private bathrooms. There are several cosy indoor sitting areas for you to relax in, as well as lovely areas outdoors. Find a shady corner to read in the beautiful garden, or enjoy the pool with its stunning view of the vineyards in the valley below. 

You are free to use the kitchen downstairs for breakfasts and for the odd time you might possibly want to prepare a light snack. Please note that this is self-catering accommodation (similar to a holiday rental) so there is no daily maid service for your rooms, although there will always be people on hand should you need something.

2012 PRICES

The cooking course price of €1550 is per person and is based on two people sharing an apartment. (This is approximately US$2000, or £1300. Check current exchange rates).
