The Village of Fonte Vetriana
Fonte Vetriana, a village in the municipality of Sarteano, is located in the unspoiled hills of Val d'Orcia in the province of Siena. This sunny hill-side position ensures a pleasant temperature year-round.
A living village barely touched by tourism, Fonte Vetriana provides visitors the opportunity to savour the real Tuscany. The village has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the remains of these prehistoric settlements can be visited in the village today. Since the 17th century, three families have inhabited Fonte Vetriana; their descendants reside in the village to this day. Presently the lands surrounding the village are farmed.
