The Saint Ambroise Hideaway is on Rue Pasteur in the "Quartier Saint Ambroise" of the 11^th arrondissement of Paris. The 11^th arrondissement is historically the heart of the French revolutionary working class, today a funky, arty district. The more residential Quartier Saint Ambroise, named after the Eglise Saint Ambroise, connects to the trendy Quartier Oberkampf where the streets are lined with delightful bars, restaurants and cafes.  The apartment is an easy walk, through the bustling and eclectic streets of Paris to:

Bastille, Place des Vosges, the Marais, and Canal Saint Martin (10 minutes)

Cimetière Père La Chaise, Ile St. Louis, Notre Dame, the Louvre (15-25 minutes)

Luxembourg Gardens, Jardin des Plantes, Sacre Cœur (30 minutes)

For those who prefer the metro, the Hideaway is conveniently situated on several bus and metro lines.  

The peaceful, bright and charming hideaway is on the fourth (French) floor of an 1800's building, and features some of the lovely details typical of old world French architecture, such as parquet floors and moulure ceilings. The studio is 28 sq meters (301 sq feet) and can sleep up to four people between the sleeping alcove that hosts a queen size bed and the living room with a pull out sofa bed.  The space is the perfect size for a couple but also suitable for a family with one or two children. 

The hideaway is tastefully furnished and very comfortable! The apartment stocks a great book collection to browse through as well as a cosmopolitan music library to reflect the international diversity of neighbourhood.

The kitchen is stocked with all the dishware and cookware necessary to put together a delicious meal with the wonderful food you'll find at the local open air markets that serve the neighbourhood four days per week, not to mention the treats and wine you will find at the boulangeries, traiteurs and caves that line the streets leading to Rue Pasteur.
