Villa Favolosa Bed & Breakfastwww.villafavolosa.comHotels, B&Bs, Restaurants, Italy, Piemonte Enjoy true Piemontese Hospitality in our family run B&B in the green hills of the Langhe MonregalesiLocation: Montaldo di Mondově (CN), Piemonte, Italy
Villa Favolosa Bed & Breakfast is located in a hillside hamlet of the town of Montaldo di Mondovi' in southwestern Piemonte. We are in the heart of the Cuneo Province, which is Piemonte's best known territory for wine, cuisine and the natural beauty of the landscape. Our area is home to many gastronomic delicacies including white truffles, porcini mushrooms, prized Alpine cheeses like Castelmagno and Raschera, hazelnuts, chestnuts, and of course, some of the worlds best wines like Barolo and Barbaresco.
Ideally situated between the Italian Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, Villa Favolosa enjoys a sunny location looking out over the Roburentello Valley and the Langhe Monregalesi, the rolling hills that surround the lovely town of Mondovi'. The Villa has been in our family for more than 350 years. Today our family spans the Atlantic between Piemonte and the USA. We have restored and renovated Villa Favolosa in order to offer our guests the best of both worlds - traditional Piemontese hospitality with all the comforts of home.
We are locals! At Villa Favolosa you will experience the real Italy. You can immerse yourself in our local culture and traditions. Our family has lived in Piemonte for generations and we want to share our knowledge and experience of this beautiful land with our guests. We will help you plan your stay at Villa Favolosa and enjoy an experience that seasoned travellers dream of. We speak fluent English, Italian, French and Piemontčis!
About a five minute walk through the village will bring you to our own enchanting Bosco (woodlands) where you can forage for porcini mushrooms, wild strawberries and blackberries. The scenery on the way to the bosco is breath taking: lush, green hills covered with grapevines and hazelnut bushes. The hills are dotted with tiny churches and chapels and in the distance you can see the Alps.
Follow the famous Wine Road from Mondovi' to Alba and you pass vineyards and fruit groves and stop in beautiful towns like Dogliani, Monforte d'Alba, Barolo and La Morra. There are countless Day Trips to do from Villa Favolosa... In less than one hour you can drive to Turin, Genoa, or the sunny Italian Riviera. Monte Carlo, Nice and the French Riviera are less than 2 hours away and make great Day Trips. Visit our website for lots of ideas about what to do and see in the area.
Our guest rooms offer views of the Roburentello Valley, the Langhe Monregalesi and the Italian Alps. Amenities include private en-suite bathrooms with hair dryers, individually controlled air conditioning, flat screen television with English language (Astra 2) satellite programming, and complementary wine and mineral water. You will find traditional, artisan made furnishings throughout the house. Most of these pieces were hand made here in Montaldo di Mondovi' and date back to the early 1900's.
Each morning Breakfast is served in our tranquil courtyard and includes freshly baked bread, home-made preserves and butter, a selection of local cheeses and cold cuts, seasonal fruit, traditional baked goods, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee, espresso or cappuccino. In the evening, we invite our guests to join us in the garden for home-made stuzzichini (appetizers) along with a glass of our local Dolcetto delle Langhe Monregalesi wine.
Villa Favolosa is the perfect home base for exploring the beauty and bounty of this eno-gastronomic wonderland of Piemonte.
