"Le Casine di Castello"—Where Tuscan Dreams Come True!

The town homes of "Le Casine di Castello" are located in the gem-like village of Castelmuzio, an ideal location for daytrips to San Quirico d'Orcia (5 min.), Montalcino and Montepulciano (15 min.), as well as to famous destinations like the thermal hot springs of Bagno Vignoni (10 min.), Florence (1 hour 15 min.), Siena and Cortona (45 min.), Arezzo (40 min.), Perugia and San Gimignano (1 hour).

Castelmuzio sits on a hilltop nearby the beautiful Artistical, Natural, and Cultural Park of Val d'Orcia, which was proclaimed a UNESCO's World Heritage Site in 2004.

The experience of living your Tuscan dream is choreographed by its owner, Isabella Moricciani, who many have come to know and love from their farm stays at "Agriturismo Cretaiole."  Her desire is to make your Tuscan village vacation a precious memory that will last a lifetime!

As part of your stay, Isabella will teach you to make pasta, taste wine and olive oil, and enjoy the traditions of the Val d'Orcia.  She will help you design your stay to include Italian art, outdoor activities, enogastronomy, nature, and history.  Come taste, feel, and absorb Tuscany in a way rarely experienced by others who visit Italy.  You will have a beautiful experience in Tuscan life which starts with an authentic town villa to call your home, unique local Tuscan activities and visits to places unknown to tourists, and an opportunity to live side-by-side with native Tuscans who will warm your heart with kindness.

"Le Casine di Castello"...

was built in 1891and has been entirely restored, maintaining its original features.  The furnishings are Tuscan antiques.  This house has trompe l'oeil on the walls and ceilings, making it an extremely charming as well as comfortable accommodation.  It is a perfect Tuscan home-away-from-home for couples, singles, friends traveling together, or families with children of any age.

Upon your arrival at "Le Casine di Castello" you will find a full breakfast basket for you first morning, and a sample of the Moricciani family's olive oil and wine.  Items that will be available during the whole stay include coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, tea, herbs, Tuscan liqueurs, Italian candies, body soap and lotions, shampoo, and much more.

Both of the town homes of “Le Casine di Castello” have a CD player with radioTV (Italian stations only), playing cards, and books to read (in English).

The Town Homes of "Le Casine di Castello"

“Le Casine di Castello” has two beautiful town homes, complete with their own private outdoor spaces, views of the village and the countryside, and just steps away from  the village center and local coffee bar.

"Il Cielo" (The Sky) Town House

This spacious air conditioned 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath town house spans three levels.  It has a living room, dining room with an open fireplace, complete kitchen with everything you need to make delicious meals or snacks, a laundry room with washing machine, ironing board, laundry sink, and clothes drying rack.

You will love “Il Cielo’s” private terrace and its view of the village’s bell tower and medieval center—this will be your very own outdoor space to sip your wine and relax in total peace.  Your private perch on top of the world allows you to see beyond the village buildings out to the Val D'Orcia countryside.

"Il Nido" (The Nest) Town Suite

This private, romantic hideaway, with vaulted brick ceilings, is tucked underneath “Il Cielo”, and is perfect for two people who have come for their honeymoon or to live their Tuscan dream together, or for someone who wants to retreat to a quiet getaway.

“Il Nido” is a one bedroom, one bath town suite with a private garden courtyard.  Its lower level location and stone walls keep it naturally cool and comfortable.  Its kitchen is large and homey, and includes a dining table to enjoy the delicious tastes of Tuscany.  The bedroom has a romantic king-sized, four-poster bed, clothed with luxury linens.  The bathroom is very large, complete with a hairdryer and roomy shower with unlimited hot water.  An iron, ironing board, and drying rack are available, and a laundry service in the village is available upon request.

For groups of up to 8 people

Both "Il Cielo" and "Il Nido" may be rented for groups up to 8 people.  Normally locked, there is a connecting door that will allow full freedom of the entire building to all the guests.

Our Services and Assistance...

Both town homes have within them a large, leather-bound, three-ring binder (Isa's Big Book) chock-full of detailed information about the area, driving itineraries, bicycling itineraries, restaurant reviews and descriptions, spas and wellness centers, museums, festivals, art, and so much more.  This book has been prepared by Isabella herself and is for your use while you stay with her at "Le Casine"!

During the primary season*, "Le Casine di Castello" town homes are rented on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday.  Isabella includes within the weekly rental rate a cooking class to learn how to prepare handmade pasta with a huge Tuscan dinner with the Moricciani family and the other guests of "Le Casine di Castello" and "Agriturismo Cretaiole", and an olive oil tasting class at no extra charge!  Also, we will take you on a private tour of the Hermitage, that is located on the family's private property in Pienza.  Archeologists believe this site was first used by the Etruscans as a tomb, but are certain that it was used by monks during the Middle Ages.  This is also included in the total cost of your stay.

Any type of activity or experience you would like to have, such as wine tours and wine tastings, bread and pasta cooking classes, mountain bike tours, one-day spa treatment programs in the local spas, she will be glad to organize  for you!

You may enjoy the use of a cell phone for free during your stay.  You can replenish the phone with additional time in small increments at the local TIM store in Pienza.

"Le Casine di Castello" has mountain bikes for you to explore the area.
