We introduce ourselves

We are – sister and brother -  the owners of  "Fattoria Poggerino", a small winery located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region between Firenze and Siena. The Farm, which belongs to our Family for a few generations, consists of 106 acres of vineyards, olive groves and woods, with some traditional old stone houses.

Winery and lodging

Our main activity is the wine production . Our wines, often prized by the top wine guides and magazines, are produced exclusively from our own grapes and every step of wine production and marketing is carried out directly by ourselves.

Beside our activity as a winery, we also provide charming accommodations in an original 700 years old stone house.

If you are looking for a simple, cosy and relaxed atmosphere, Poggerino might be the place for you. We have 3 self-catering apartments for a total max.10 sleeps which we rent by the week and - from spring 2009 - 4 double bedrooms and one single bedroom with B&B, which can be rented for shorter periods.

The accommodations are quite and comfortable; most of the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings have been preserved. The furniture is classic Tuscan. The houses are surrounded by forest and there's plenty of space in the garden to enjoy the peace of the countryside. The swimming pool, encircled by lawn and a lovely flower garden, faces the vineyards and olive groves with a breathtaking view.

Enjoy the evenings sitting in the garden with a barbeque and a glass of wine and……sorry no TV, only the song of the night birds…… That's how we like it !

Accommodation and prices for the rooms

Our small B&B is composed of 4 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom and 1 suite.

The rooms are located in the ancient building named "Bugialla" which we have restored in 2008; you can view it at this link: http://www.poggerino.com/english/fattoria/winery/01.htm

Each room has a personal decoration, a beautiful view from the window, en-suite bathroom, adsl - wifi internet connection, safety deposit box.

A cosy living room with the ancient open fireplace  is at the guest's disposal. 

In the large garden we have arranged many different corners where you can enjoy the quietness, relax and beauty of the Tuscan  countryside.

We also offer breakfast and dinner prepared with the fruits of our large organic vegetable garden and with the eggs of our hens.  Special menus for vegetarians.

Dinner is served in the dining room or on the patio in the warm summer evenings.

It consists of a three courses fixed menu.

You will taste some typical Italian home made recipes . Grill evenings in the garden are also organized every week.

Of course you will have the chance to drink all the Poggerino wines!

Prices for the rooms are the following:

Double with breakfast €96,00 (price per night for 2 people)

Double with breakfast and dinner €140,00 (price per night for 2 people)

Single with breakfast € 65,00

Single with breakfast and dinner €85,00

Minimum 2 nights stay is required.

Accommodation and prices for self-catering apartments

"La Ghianda" – sleeps 2

This is a romantic, isolated  stone cottage. The garden level entrance gives onto a large bedroom – living room with open fireplace. The house includes a bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen and a lovely veranda overlooking the garden.

Price vary by season and goes from a minimum of € 360,00 per week to a maximum of € 440,00 per week, including taxes, bed and bath linen and final cleanings.

"Il Bugiallino" and "La Canonica" – both sleep 4 people each.

These two apartments are in a very ancient stone house. They are totally separate and each of them has an independent entrance and a private equipped outdoor space in the garden. The apartments each have two bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with two single beds), bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room with open fireplace.

Price vary by season and goes from a minimum of € 460,00 per week to a maximum of € 560,00 per week, including taxes, bed and bath linen and final cleanings.

Our apartments are only rented from May through mid October, always from Saturday to Saturday.

Where we are

Radda in Chianti, a beautiful village of the Middle Ages, is 3km away. In Radda you can find fresh bread in the morning, restaurants, grocery and butcher's stores, a small supermarket, two banks and several other shops. There is also an internet point and a public phone. Anyhow, if you wish to check your emails, receive a fax or talk to home via Skype, you are welcome in our office, we have a fast connection and there's no extra charge.

Poggerino is an ideal starting point for daily trips throughout Tuscany. Such famous historical towns like Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Volterra, Pienza are within easy distance though day trips can also include numerous nearby villages, hamlets and chapels of lesser renown, small gems which will delight the traveller.
