Laurito is an 9th century walled village in the mountains of Campania - about 118 miles south of Naples and about 50 miles south of Amalfi.  At an elevation of about 2000 feet, one has the beautiful mountain air and vista while being only 15-20 minutes away from the cleanest, clearest most aqua blue waters of the mediterranean sea at Palinuro.

 

Laurito is considered one of the most original walled villages that remains intact with no almost new construction within the orignal walls.  For a slow, peaceful tranquil experience like none other we invite you to our paradise.  Water flows from natural mountain springs.  Fruit trees, olive groves and nuts are prevalent crops throughout the town. Sample local wine, oil and fare as you please and shop in the weekly fresh air markets.  Take an ancient pilgrammage to one of the mountain sites or a trip out to the sea caves at Palinuro.  Pompeii and Amalfi, Sorrento, are easy day trips without the stresses of the larger cities.  Explore less known beauties - Maratea, Matera, Albero Bello in Puglia, and Paestum that are close and magnificent.

 

Laurito is one of the most safest and far removed areas with many opportunities to explore history on your own.  In Southern Italy you can live it in our 1300 century remodeled castle.  Enjoy being a part of local ceremony, street festivals, and processions at your door while have a completely modern living space and gourmet kitchen.  5 bathrooms, a gigantic outdoor grill and a garden full of organic vegtables and fruit at your fingertips.  For those of you who need to stay connected, wifi, computers, a 50 inch plasma, cable in 5 languages, and WII game is available to our guests as well.

 

The home is furnished with American Mattresses, towels, and is wired for both 110/220 so your small personal electrical items will not require converters.

The property can sleep as many as 14.  There are two kitchens.  The one seen in this picture and another in a private apartment layout that is perfect for a couple or a couple with a small child.
