At Farmhouse San Bartolomeo we offer you full immersion in the Italian lifestyle, focusing on wine, olive oil and food tasting in undiscovered and unspoilt Umbria.

Here our guests become part of an Italian family and enjoy nature and the pleasures of life lived slowly. Our aim is to share with you the traditions characteristic of this land in the heart of Italy. Built on a hill, our beautiful farmhouse overlooks a wide valley.  The property includes a 300 m² old stone farmhouse and a two-hectare estate with a garden and a swimming pool surrounded by trees and greenery.

The two-storey farmhouse itself has been carefully preserved and restored and has lost none of its ancient charm.  Here, it is peaceful and silent; time stands still.  The living room on the ground floor is where you will be served breakfast with milk, coffee, a variety of herbal-teas, biscuits, cornflakes, jam, yogurt, fruit and cakes.

The 5 en suite bedrooms are on the upper floor and are tastefully furnished with antiques and original beamed ceilings.

Although in a rural location, the casale of San Bartolomeo is only 3km from Marsciano, a pretty village with many shops and excellent local restaurants.

 Accommodation

The farmhouse can be rented in its entirety or by the room.  Rooms are booked on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

• Bed & Breakfast accommodation: The house is laid out on two floors: the ground floor hosts the breakfast room while the five bedrooms, each with private en-suite bathroom with shower, are on the first floor.  Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 4 are doubles; Room 5 is a triple. All rooms have original beamed ceilings and old terracotta floors.
•  Holiday Accommodation letting: As all the guests' rooms are located in the villa, one of the casale's two independent buildings, groups of guests may wish to rent the entire villa of five bedrooms.  This arrangement permits flexibility and autonomy also in meal preparation, as the villa's kitchen and the dining area will also be available to guests.  We offer to our visitors a modern, well-equipped kitchen with  dishwasher, marble  table,  microwave, electric oven  and gas hob/stove, fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee maker and all dining and cooking equipment ; a cosy living room with an ancient log fireplace, plasma TV and Sky satellite service; a utility room near the kitchen with a sink, Iron/ironing board and washing machine.

 A) Bed & Breakfast accommodation

• The daily rate, per double room, per day, is € 50-80 Euros, depending on the time of year, the room chosen and the length of stay. See our website
• Children up to four years of age stay free (infant cots are available at no extra charge). 
• An extra bed for an adult is € 25 per night
• Payment can be made only in cash and over the internet, by PAY PAL. 
  Sorry, but we do not accept cheques or credit cards

• In case of cancellations made less than 30 days before the date of arrival, 50% of the charge will be debited.  If a reservation is cancelled less than 10 days prior to the expected date of arrival, 100% of the charge will be debited

San Bartolomeo is a great place for a family holiday!  Our farmhouse encourages 'togetherness' and is a place where families can feel comfortable.  We welcome children and offer a number of facilities to meet the needs of young ones. 

Outside

The Casale is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a swimming pool (10x7) overlooking a wide valley and a charming forest on the back. A barbecue and a covered patio are at disposal of our guests for relax and meals. 
Our propriety is also well-located for trekking and excursions by bicycle or on foot. 

Distances

Although in a rural location, the casale of San Bartolomeo is only 3km from Marsciano, a pretty village with many shops and excellent local restaurants.

Marsciano is in the middle of Umbria and an ideal base for day trips to all of Umbria's most beautiful and famous ancient 'cities of art'. 

Todi, Perugia, Assisi and Bevagna are a thirty-minute drive away, while Spoleto and Orvieto are about forty-five minutes away. Rome and Florence can be each reached in less than two hours.
