La Mara is a completely restored, beautiful holiday apartment in southern Piemonte, only ten minutes from the historic city of Acqui Terme. Set in the village of Arzello, the apartment has every amenity imaginable -- full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine, television, two full bathrooms and a laptop with WiFi. Hot water and heating are supplied through conventional methods as well as solar panels. The brand new apartment was completed in a historic building in spring of 2009. There are approximately 650 square feet of living space over two levels. On the first level is a bath with shower, kitchen, dining and living area with a pull out sofa, and a balcony. On the second level is a beautiful bedroom with vaulted ceiling, full bath with tub, and office area complete with a laptop computer and wifi. There is plenty of closet space, a place to store your luggage. The floors on the first floor are ceramic tile. The upper level has hardwood floors. Gorgeous exposed stone walls, triple glazed windows and a beautiful balcony to enjoy the surrounding atmosphere make this apartment as comfortable as being home -- maybe more so! The village of Arzello is tiny and has a beautiful church, a trattoria and a small shop for groceries. Just step outside and there are roads leading in every direction through the country side, ideal for hiking and biking. Oh, and there are bikes available as well! There are dozens of restaurants within 20 minutes of the apartment, or you can choose to go to the Acqui Terme outdoor market on Tuesday and Friday and pick up food to prepare in the wonderful kitchen! This apartment is absolutely perfect. It was designed and is owned by an architectural engineer, is soundproof, fully insulated for winter and summer stays, and is simply the finest rental of its type you can find. The apartment is available year round. For a wonderful stay in Piemonte, La Mara is the ideal location from which to explore the Monferrato and the Langhe, and is only an hour from the Ligurian coast line as well.
