Villa Marielleveronicabuxton.comVacation Rentals, Italy, Umbria Gracious Living in the Umbrian HillsLocation: near Orvieto Sleeps: 6-8
Conveniently located between Rome and Florence, Villa Marielle is on a one-acre grassy knoll at the edge of a small village near Orvieto. The structures are made from the native stone, tufa, the surrounding grounds have many different fruit trees and flowering shrubs and the private swimming pool and outdoor terraces offer tranquil views of the Umbrian hills. You can walk into town in 10 minutes, have your coffee or drink at the bar/tabac, and get all your provisions from the general store. It’s the perfect getaway, yet many of Italy’s most beautiful medieval hill towns are an easy drive: Siena, Todi, Assisi, Arezzo, Spoleto, are all within an hour’s drive. The sulphur hot springs town of Saturnia is 45 minutes away and the pristine Mediterranean beaches just over an hour. The cleanest lake in Europe (and , I think one of the most beautiful) Lake Bolsena, is 15 minutes to the west -- close enough to go just for dinner or a bike ride. And Orvieto the jewel of Umbria, is a 15 minute car trip. The house sleeps 6-8 with three bedrooms upstairs and three full bathrooms including a jacuzzi tub. A spacious living area, dining area, breakfast room and kitchen make up the downstairs. There are several outdoor eating areas adjacent to the pool. There’s even a traditional outdoor pizza oven!
