Croatia is a land of many wonders – layers upon layers of history, extraordinary natural beauty, wonderful wines and delicious food. Our 10 day tour will be an exploration of the tastes, sights, smells and sounds of this remarkable country. We visit the Istrian peninsula where we will base in the gorgeous old Venetian town of Rovinj, and make day trips to several wineries and food artisans and small, intriguing towns. We will also have an afternoon on the water, seeing Rovinj and the surrounding lands as the Venetians and many sea travelers for centuries afterwards viewed them. From Rovinj we will head to the Plitvice National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site and then on to Split, where the remains of an ancient Roman palace - another Unesco World Heritage Site - are just part of the allure. We will then journey to Hvar Island for several days – one of the most beautiful places in the world with a wine history going back to the Greeks.

Because we cover so much ground on this tour, we have added extra days and plenty of free time for you to decompress and enjoy the cafes and scenery on your own. In addition, for those who are interested in seeing Dubrovnik, there is a four day “add on” to the regular tour.

Some of the highlights of the trip:

• Tastings at several wineries
• Visits to food artisans with tastings of regional specialties
• An afternoon at Plitvice National Park
• Guided town walks in Rovinj, Split and Hvar Town
• A visit to Stari Grad Plain, an agricutural area dating from Greek times and a Unesco World Heritage Site
• An afternoon boat trip and picnic off the beautiful town of Rovinj
• A visit to the town of Trogir, a Unesco World Heritage Site

• All hotel accomodations (4 nights in Rovinj, 1 night at Plitvice National Park, 1 night in Split, 4 nights in Hvar Town, Hvar Island)

• All guides, and services of your tour guide, including help planning the rest of your trip

What’s not included:

• Airfare
• Transfer from into or out of Rovinj or Dubrovnik at the start and finish of the tour
• Beverages besides host ordered beverages
• "Free time" meals
• Cost of any extras in your hotel room such as phone calls and minibar
• Travel insurance (we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance).

Additional days in Dubrovnik

Our four days in Dubrovnik will include a guided tour of the city, a walk around the old city wall, visits to a couple of great bars, and some excellent meals as well as a daytrip to the Pelješac peninsula where will visit wineries and eat some great regional foods. You’ll also have some time to walk around this unique city on your own. Accommodation and all tastings and planned events are included in the add-on price, as well as all breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners.
