La Trobairitz is located in Sanilhac, a small working village in the Gard department in Languedoc-Roussilon.    The village has two restaurants and an excellent bakery and tea room, all just steps from your door, and supermarkets short drive away.  

Nestled among fields of crops and grapes, Sanilhac itself is quiet and peaceful, but it is convenient to all of the sights of the region.  Just 10 minutes away is Uzès, the historic, artsy, duchy which has all shops and services, many restaurants, a twice-weekly market, and festivals and cultural events all year long.  From Sanilhac, one can make day trips to the ancient cities of Nîmes and Avignon, or to famous wine villages such as Cateauneuf du Pape or Tavel.  

Or, best of all, explore the countryside on foot, with an extensive network of trails that start in the village.  Walk to the Gorges of the Gardon, Collias, or the Pont du Gard, all without getting in the car. Bicycle rental is available in the village, also.

La Trobairitz itself is a wonderful place to relax.  Thought the castle door you find a beautiful private courtyard of Burgundian flagstone, off of which is a bedroom  suite with its own shower and wc.  Exterior stairs lead to the main floor, including living room with an aquarium  window into the pool, dining room and kitchen.  The circular stair takes you to the master suite, rooftop terrace and pool, and a wonderful sunset view.

Available for 3-season rental, it is perfect for two couples or a couple with older children.   La Trobairitz is a contemporary center for you next adventures in the sunny south of France.
