Trequanda

La Casa dei Fiordalisi is located in Trequanda, an historic hill town located north of Rome, and near Siena and Florence, in the heart of Tuscan wine country.  The region around Trequanda is known for its spectacular scenery, history, art, architecture, artisan cheeses, honey, pasta, Chianina beef, spring and fall truffles and, of course, its olive oil.  The world famous Chianti, brunello, and vino nobile wineries are all within a half hour drive through our beautiful countryside.

The village of Trequanda has all the amenities of life.  There is a small piazza at the center of the village with bar, café and outdoor seating, a castle, a meat market, a grocery, ATM, pharmacy, newsstand, bakery, and a pizzeria, osteria, and regionally famous full service restaurant with terrace dining,  a few minutes walk from La Casa dei Fiordalisi. Additionally, there are fifteen family-owned restaurants within a short drive, providing everything from wood-baked pizza to sophisticated Euro-cuisine. 

La Casa dei Fiordalisi

La Casa dei Fiordalisi is a newly restored 13^th century private home, built along the inside of the Trequanda city wall.  In the 17^th century, an addition outside the wall provided covered loggia spaces and open terraces for all the upper rooms of the house.

After two years of careful restoration, La Casa has a gourmet kitchen and working pantry, entertaining areas inside and out, six bedrooms with attached baths (and each bath with its own washing machine!).  There are six fireplaces, and an indoor wood grill for making amazing meals.  Living spaces open onto dining and sunning terraces, a swimming pool, and a private garden with fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs.

La Casa dei Fiordalisi is made up of three distinct living spaces: 

• The Main House has four bedrooms with lovely territorial views (two with fireplaces), each with its own bath, a sitting room with fireplace, main kitchen, pantry, dining room, living room with fireplace, powder room and pool bar.  There are view terraces from both bedroom floors.
• La Casetta, an adjacent carriage house, features one bedroom with bath, sitting room, fireplace, kitchen and a small terrace overlooking the countryside view and, of course, the large terraces, pool and garden.

• La Citta, the precious village house has one bedroom with ¾ bath, a sitting room with fireplace, a kitchen, and a ½ bath.  It has a balcony overlooking the quiet cobblestone lane into the village and a small private terrace looking out to the panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside.

All the sitting rooms have sofa beds.  Trundle beds and children’s cots are also available. Authentic furnishings and original art are set off by the natural stone and plaster walls.  Handmade terra cotta floors extend throughout La Casa.  All this creates a fine balance between ancient, antique and comfortable.

Music systems, wireless Internet access, solar hot water, rain water harvesting and other modern touches also enhance La Casa.

Massage, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, painting lessons, classical music concert series, walking tours, and wine tastings are all easy to plan, and we are pleased to help you.

The house in its entirety, as a single rental of six bedrooms, is perfect for family vacations and reunions, groups of friends, and weddings and other celebrations.

Renting La Casa dei Fiordalisi

From May through October the house rents in its entirety.  From November through April the three parts of the house may be rented as separate units.
