Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu | Pick up and transfer to HotelOur represent will receive you at the Kathmandu airport and escort you the hotel. He will give you general ideas of getting around, changing money and good places to eat. If you are not tired, you can ask of a familiarization walk in the evening.
Nepal walking holiday could be customized as per your interes. There are also option of Chitwan National park safari and short trek around Kathmandu and Pokhara spending nights in the mountains.
DAY 02: Walk through old Kathmandu
In the backstreets of modern eateries and malls, medieval Kathmandu still solemnize its age old rituals and festivals. We will walk through the alleyways of old Kathmandu discovering some of the hidden stupas and temples less visited by tourist. Follow the ancient trade route from the farmers market of ‘Ason’ to the palace square of Kathmandu (Kathmandu Durbar Square). Kathmandu Durbar Square is the complex of medieval buildings with beautiful carvings and marvelous architecture. Later walk to the southwestern end of the ancient trade route and drive to Swyambhunath Mahachhayte on the hillock 70 m above Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive to Bandipur | Village tour and walk to Thanimai hillock
On the day, we will drive 4 hrs to Bandipur en-route to Pokhara. Bandipur is small town perched along the ridge above Kathmandu - Pokhara highway. The town was live trading hub along the trans-Himalayan trade route until it was bypassed by highway in 1940es. We will walk down the cobblestone street to get the glimpse of Newari shop houses and the self sufficient village life with the backdrop of snow peaks of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Later climb up to Thanimai for beautiful sunset view and observe its phantasmagoria over the Himalayas.
Day 04: Drive to Pokhara | World Peace Pagoda hiking
After spending another beautiful morning with Himalayan view, we drive 2 hrs to Pokhara. Check in hotel and explore the Phewa lakeside market. Later take a boat across the lake and hike to the World peace pagoda. The 300 m climb will take about an hour. The hilltop offers the brilliant view of Phewa lake and Pokhara valley with the Himalayan backdrop.
Day 05: Hiking around Pokhara - Australian Camp (2,060 m)
Australian camp is the highest and closest one can get in the foothills of Annapurna without entering the conservation area. The walk is gentle along the ridge from Australian camp to Astam village. The 6 hrs walk passes through the Rhododendron forest and charming Gurung villages with view of snow peaks all the time.
Day 06: Begnaskot Hiking
Begnaskot is the hilltop above Begnas lake northeast of Pokhara. The walk will give you an opportunity to explore other two lakes in Pokhara valley. Begnas lake and Rupa lake are more pristine and tranquil than Phewa lake. You can have lunch in Begnas Lake resort and then explore the village coffee collection center.
Day 07: Fly back to Kathmandu | Changunarayan - Nagarkot Hike
The 25 mints flight to Pokhara is spectacular with view of snow peaks of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. At Kathmandu airport you will be picked up by guide and together you will drive 1 hrs to Changunarayan in the east of valley. Changunarayan is the oldest Pagoda in Nepal dating back to about 3rd AD. The 5 hrs walk climbs gradually along the ridge to Nagarkot.
Day 08: Bhaktapur tour and Dhulikhel
Sunrise make the Himalayan view more picturesque. After breakfast we will check out the hotel and drive down to Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is the most beautiful of three medieval palace squares. The town is known as 'living museum' for people theres till lives the medieval life in harmony with their monuments. After lunch drive further east to Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel in the outskirt of Kathmandu valley is overlooking at the eastern Himalayan ranges.
Day 09: Hike to Namobuddha
Namobuddha is one of the important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. This is where one of the Bodhishattva (Buddha to be) sacrificed himself to feed nourishing tigress starving to death. A stupa has been built with his relic. From the 1,750 m hill top, one can see long stretch of the central Himalayas. A gentle walking trip to Namobuddha will be organized as per your interest.
Day 10: Kathmandu sightseeing
Breakfast is special with view of sweeping valley and majestic snow peaks. After breakfast check out the hotel and drive back to Kathmandu. We will visit rest of the UNESCO Heritage sites in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Drive to the airport for final departure.
