QUESTION 1: Find a photo of a cat sitting on motorcycle.

QUESTION 2: Where is the Val di Cornia? What region and what part of the region (near which larger towns)?

ANSWER: The Val di Cornia (Cornia Valley) is a peninsula on the Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan Coast) in western Tuscany, between Livorno and Grosseto.

QUESTION 3: In a restaurant in France, what course is the Entree? This is multiple choice:
1. main course,
2. refers to entrance to the restaurant,
3. appetizer,
4. greeting the owner gives to people entering the restaurant

Third Contest - 3pm MST

QUESTION 1. Italy is divided into legal "regions". List the region each of the following towns is located in. Levanto, Arezzo, Bari, Turin, Amalfi.

ANSWER: Liguria, Tuscany, Puglia, Piedmont, Campania.

QUESTION 2. What countries does Italy border on by land?

ANSWER: France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia

QUESTION 3. Frances Mayes, author of the much-read "Under the Tuscan Sun", wrote about her house near which Tuscan hill town?

ANSWER: Cortona

QUESTION 4. What town in Italy that is sometimes called "Little Jerusalem?"

ANSWER: Pitigliano

QUESTION 5. Why is there frequently a plus sign (+) at the start of European phone numbers? What does it mean?

ANSWER: The plus sign represents the long distance code (international access code) for the country where you are calling from.

QUESTION 2: What is the speed limit on the Autostrada in Italy?

ANSWER: 130 km/hr

ANSWER: A hot air balloon ride in China.

QUESTION 4: How long did it take Jonathan to drive from England to Puglia, in southern Italy?

ANSWER: 3 days

QUESTION 5: When was the first SlowTrav GTG, before we even called them GTGs?
